Los Alpes Cascara

This is the 4th lot of cascara we have had this year from Aida Batlle, it comes from Finca Los Alpes and is the cherry of the bourbon variety. We will be honest and say that they all really taste quite similar but this should not take away the fact that it is super tasty!  Cascara is made from the dried coffee fruit that surrounds the beans.  Careful processing retains the natural sweetness that the fruit has, and the drying process intensifies the sweet stone fruit, tobacco and floral qualities.  Best brewed as a tea, using about 20g per litre and approximately a five minute steep.  Caffeinated but delicious!
