Peru is a country that we’ve not sourced from in a long time, but it’s one we’ve been keeping an eye on as a lot of work is going into adapting the industry to accommodate the needs of speciality buyers. These changes seem to be paying dividends too thanks to people like Rony Guerrero who, having previously worked with one of Peru’s largest exporters, branched out and launched his own cooperative in 2016. Entry into the co-op is based on cup quality, with Rony only admitting those producers he knows grow the best coffee in the local area. This lot, sourced from a group of five growers in the San Ignacio province, is a blend of selected day lots from each farm that were chosen for their clean, crisp and fruity profiles.
