A must-taste fruit-floral delight, Chancho is the next natural lot in our Ethiopian showcase. Produced by friends and co-owners Mohammed Aba Zenab and Mohammed Aba Nura, you can also taste to compare the exquisite breadth of Chancho's profile as part of Sweetshop. Since legal changes in 2017, to gain both financial and entrepreneurial independence, many Ethiopian coffee farmers owning farms bigger than 2 hectares have scrambled to become exporters. As part of the informal "Tokuma" group - a group of farmers working together to export and sell directly to foreign clients - Mike Mamo of Telila was introduced to Chancho and, with Osito, now works with them to market their coffees. Currently producing naturals only, Mohammed and Mohammed recently purchased a hand pulper to try their hand at washed coffees, and we can't wait to taste the results!
