A first-time purchase and second Tanzanian coffee for the season, we're thrilled to present Ilomba. Balanced with bright acidity upheld by ample caramel sweetness and a luscious texture, Ilomba immediately caught our tastebuds. With a current membership of 311 producers, the mid-land dry farms surrounding Ilombo are built on clay loam soil and are all organic by default. Founded in 2000 by smallholder-coffee-farmers wanting to join forces and increase their clout in the marketplace, their growth under the guidance of Technoserve has been remarkable. With a broader focus on speciality production in Tanzania, we've seen an increase in top quality coffee emerging from the region. Considering the technical and logistical difficulties still faced by Tanzanian producers and exporters alike, we hope this marks the beginning of a stable seasonal supply from this promising origin and washing station. Sweet and well structured with a crispy finish, Ilombo will hit the spot any time of day.
