We bought our first lot from the Juanachute mill in 2014, two years after they built their micro-mill and started processing their coffee. They produce about 200 bags of coffee each year, mainly of the Caturra and Catuai varieties alongside other variety experiments. Their trees are on average about 16 years old, so there will be work required in rejuvenating the farms to ensure quality and productions stays healthy. Luis and his son Abraham see milling for themselves as an investment in the future of their family and their work in coffee, and Abraham has recently started working for a large international coffee trader to further his career. We’re very excited to have picked up another small lot from their farm, and this time it’s one of their naturals, which we are pleased to be able to share.
