Bright and wildly delicious, Kiungu is back! Showcased as a part of our Kenyan Vava Coffees collection in 2022 and has since become a mainstay in our Sweetshop blend, we had to bring this super fun and fruity coffee back as a single-origin offering. Produced in Embu, Kenya, by the Kathima Factory, which falls under the Thambana Cooperative Society, the county neighbours Kirinyaga on the slopes of Mount Kenya. While the usual expectation of Kenyan coffee draws attention to counties bordering Nairobi, Kiungu leads us slightly northeast to highlight the underrated Embu. Painting a richer picture of what Kenya has to offer, it bursts with complex, juicy flavour notes of tangerine, apple and a chewy, candy texture. Sunshine in a cup, we think this vibrant filter will brighten any afternoon brew.
