From the Jaramillo family producer group, up next in our Peruvian lineup is La Catarata! With producer Oxwel Jaramillo acting as an informal leader of the family, this bourbon lot is a little more fruity and full-bodied than his brother Roybel’s ‘El Romerillo’, a previous component you might remember from this year’s Easter Blend. Offering a profile typical of what you might expect of Peru, La Catarata’s rich, fudge flavour alongside mild, cherry acidity, create a dessert quality we can’t get enough of. Although from the same region of Tabaconas, each brother's coffee is extremely different, proving how diverse the produce of the families farms truly is. While the area is relatively new to coffee production, the Jaramillo’s have expanded their business further with their very own local restaurant, creating stability and sustainability for the community and we’re thrilled to see what they’ll do next.
