Pacamaras don't come up that often for us so releasing this lot from Guatemala is a bit special. Pear and green apple acidity alongside a caramel sweetness and a fragrant honeysuckle quality making for a unique and pleasing cup.

Generally going by his nickname Orlando, Nelson Sagastume became a coffee farmer when he was only 12 when his grandfather Francisco Lemus gifted him his own parcel of land on the family farm. Today, Orlando manages his 74 hectares with real passion and tends to his Caturra and Pacamara trees with the utmost dedication. Of his choice of Pacamara, the large bean variety that is a cross between Pacas and Maragogype, he says: “I started planting Pacamara when I first started working the farm. The coffee is received well, and even a few years ago I was given a cup score between 88-90 on the SCAA scale. Today it’s the varietal that’s most challenging to cultivate”. Orlando takes great pride in his coffee and his farm and goes on to say: “It is not a job, it is what I like to do, I’m lucky that my hobby also provides for a means of living.”
