This Colombian espresso packs a sweet, citrusy punch, making it an ideal morning wake up call. Flavours of nectarine and candied orange peel dominate, while a smooth, syrupy body makes for a satisfying shot.

This coffee takes its name from the mighty Magdalena river, which starts in Huila as the Andean mountains split into the Eastern Ranges and the Central Andes Cordillera. The confluence of the three mountain ranges and the river creates a number of unique microclimates, and here in Pitalito, the conditions are perfect for growing high-quality coffee. With a production of only 10-15 bags each per year, the farmers in the group combine their lots to allow them to achieve a more stable price for their crop, building long-term relationships in the process. When we tried this coffee for the first time we were immediately struck by its sweetness and thought it’d make the most wonderful espresso. We hope you enjoy!
