Tasting Notes

STRAWBERRY/ DARK CHOC/ BLACK GRAPE
Sweet, fresh strawberry and black grape notes sit nicely alongside dark chocolate flavours and a slightly heady, boozy finish in this returning favourite from Ethiopia. This is a benchmark example of natural process coffee, with superb poise and balance.

The award-winning Mormora Plantation is located near the Shakiso town in Guji zone, Oromia region. They placed 1st in the 2012 national ‘Taste of Harvest’ championship and have been in the top ranks of several other competitions since. Owned by a team of five shareholders Mormora is both an old plantation and a pioneering venture that has played a vital role in establishing Shakiso as one of the prime speciality coffee areas in Guji. Coffee is grown organically and 100% under a shaded canopy from other native trees and plants, and the Djimmah Research Centre have supported the farm in developing and testing systems for planting, pruning and rejuvenation.
