Located in the Nyeri region of Kenya, Mugaga Farmers Co-operative Society (F.C.S.) is comprised of smallholder farmers who own on average 300–500 coffee trees. Most farmers grow other crops alongside their coffee trees, which are typically SL-28, SL-32, Ruiru 11, and Batian. The group’s washing station was established in 1994 and the Co-operatives long-term goal is to primarily focus on quality, supporting its growers through teaching best agricultural practice and sustainable farming techniques. This quality over quantity approach really shows in the cup as this single origin espresso exudes the bright and fruity notes we expect of the region, alongside super clean and crisp characteristics.
