A new farm and producer for us here at Square Mile, Ngarariga performed so well on the cupping table that I bought both the AA and AB sortings from this 16/17 harvest. Stephen Muthiora and his family own and operate the 18 acre farm, where 9,700 SL28 trees have been planted using seeds and seedlings from the nearby Coffee Research Institute. Harvest takes place in the months leading up to Christmas, and processing at peak times seems them pulping cherry and washing parchment on a daily basis. Once dried down to a humidity level safe for export, the coffee is given some time to rest and homogenize before the dry mill removes the parchment, sorts the coffee by size, and prepares it for shipping.
