One of the first Huilan coffees we ever showcased, we always get a little silly excited when it's time to welcome back Quebradón from the municipality of Palestina. Consistently delicious, we're forever impressed by its distinct clarity and silky smooth mouthfeel. Representative of 130 coffee-growing families, this year's lot is the combined work of 7 of its contributing members. Amongst avocado and cattle farming, coffee is the main agricultural activity in the region, and most of the farmers are 3rd and 2nd generation growers. Surrounded by mountains, Palestina is considered a coffee-growing paradise, and during the 1930s and 1940s, many coffee farmers from across Colombia migrated to the region in search of better opportunities. And it's this mix of indigenous and traditional farming methods that ultimately shaped the exceptional quality and unmistakable flavour profile of both Palestina and Quebradón.
