Tasting Notes

LIMONCELLO/ HONEY/ MACADAMIA
A returning favourite for us, and we're pretty sure you too, the Quejina from Huehuetenango. This year, though we thought it best to share as an espresso as it's heavy, almost concentrated limoncello flavours really shine. Dense honey sweetness and creamy macadamia finish make for a welcome return.

The Quejina farm, surrounded by a beautiful landscape of forests, has been operated by the Ramírez family for generations. The region of Huehuetenango is close to the border with Mexico and is the source of many of our favourite Guatemalan coffees. Nicolás and his team manage the 2.25 acres of coffee to optimise quality and are exploring new varietals across the farm. Nicolás has his eye on expanding the farm by purchasing more land to continue to grow and increase their production of speciality coffee. Whilst coffee farming is the primary form of income, he remains committed to maintaining the natural forest environment, and as the farm is planted in the forest, he understands the benefits of the symbiotic relationship between the trees, soil, water and climate.
