Rotutu - 1

The global pandemic provided many challenges within the coffee industry, and although we're not out of the woods yet, saying that Rotuto from East Timor is back is no small feat. A first-time showcase in 2020, we're thrilled to have this noteworthy coffee back. Consisting of 24 members from the highland district of Ermera, Letefoho, the Rotutu Farmer Group is lead by Francisco de Deus and his son, Expeditu. Having only recently joined the team, Expeditu oversees quality assurance and liaises with farmers from various areas. With a 200-year-old coffee producing culture, it is clear that the Rotutu Farmer Group pay close attention to growing and processing to get the best quality beans. And particularly striking is the consistent quality and flavour profile between last year and this year's lot. Bright and juicy with orange carried on a wave of smooth caramel breaking into a dried apricot finish, Rotutu is delicious.
