Vargem Bonita - 1

Vargem Bonita (which translates as Beautiful Meadow) belongs to third generation coffee farmer Lauro Puntel and is a fairly large estate with nearly 90 hectares of planted land. From transporting cherries by ox carts in the early days of Lauro's grandfather to today’s modern use of processing equipment, dryers, pre-sorting machines and harvesters, the farm has grown to be well structured for both larger scale agriculture as well as speciality production. Each lot on the farm is identified and tracked through the entire cycle from picking to storage. Coffees that are identified as having a higher quality potential based on altitude, Brix readings and maturation levels are separated and given extra care throughout every processing stage.
