Typically, Yirgacheffe is known and celebrated for producing bright, clean, and floral washed coffees and the distinct fruit and berry flavours in naturals. Offering something different, we selected Wote Konga, the next natural in our Ethiopian showcase, for its unique profile among Yirgacheffe coffees. A privately owned wet mill, about 600 farmers deliver into the washing station. Each farmer owns about 1 hectare of land covered in up to 1500 trees each, and although they don't prune as much, they use organic fertiliser, making their coffee organic by default. Producing great natural coffees is challenging and requires constant turning and monitoring. Strictly using cherries at their peak ripeness, picked towards the end of the harvest for their natural process lots, Wote Konga achieves an almost otherworldy texture and fruitiness in the cup we can't get enough of.
