This year marks the second year we're working with Coffee Gardens on our Uganda offering. Focused in Eastern Uganda, in Sironko on the foothills of Mount Elgon, Coffee Gardens was established in 2017 and set out on a mission to offer fully traceable coffee produced in a way that benefits both farmers and the environment. In 2018 they set up a micro-mill about 600m down the hill from their partner farming community living on the mountain in the Bukyabo valley. This allows the cherry to be delivered to the washing station within hours of being picked. To get the cherry from the farms to the washing station, they employ "runners", a team of over 160 women and men from the local community. This Micro lot is named after Zebugu-Busi, the village where many contributing farmers live. An elegant cup shimmering with juicy delight, Zebugu-Busi is one for the books!
