The Abateraninkunga Ba Sholi (Sholi) cooperative group was established in 2008 by 30 women in the region, with the aim of marketing their coffee and contributing to the growth of the local coffee industry. The name 'Abateraninkunga' means 'mutual assistance' in Kinyarwanda. Even though it was initially a women's cooperative, men later joined, and the name was changed to 'Abateraninkunga Ba Sholi' to reflect this change. With new members every year, Aba Sholi opened its very own washing station in 2014. Currently, the cooperative consists of 334 producers, with 42% of them being women. Since its establishment, the cooperative has garnered both local and international recognition and has made a significant impact on the Rwandan coffee market.
