Notes of cherry, deep chocolate and almond come together to make the richly smooth La Bermeja! Produced in the region of Cajamarca, Peru by various smallholders, including the Jaramillo family who have become a household name in our Cajamarca offerings. The producer family are a highlight within the La Bermeja group. Exemplifying group leadership with the “minga” ethos, they help families and neighbours care for and harvest their lots. Seven out of the nine Jaramillo siblings produce coffee in the area and in total, cultivate around 8 hectares of coffee across their seven scattered individual farms. In typical Peruvian style, they pick and process their own coffee cherries as a collective, rotating from farm to farm. Consistently producing coffee that embodies the medium-bodied, nutty profile the region has become synonymous with, it’s no wonder the Jaramillo’s are becoming Square Mile regulars!
