Tasting Notes

BLACKBERRY/ PEAR/ SILKY

When brewing our decaf filter, we recommend a similar grind size as when brewing your preferred filter coffee method. We recommend a ratio of 70g of coffee / 1L of water, for example 35g of coffee for 500g of water. Adjust to personal preference.

If brewing using a percolation method like V60, we recommend agitating during the bloom phase followed by a low agitation of the bed for the rest of the brew.

Decaf Filter - 1

Deliciously sweet and silky, we’re excited to welcome Altamira de Chirripó as the latest Decaf Filter! Produced by the Micepa Micromill in the Chirripó region of Costa Rica, the mill and coffee have become a recurring favourite in our espresso offerings over the years and you might recognise the name from a component in our current Red Brick blend. We had the pleasure of hosting the producers at our roastery, alongside our other longstanding Costa Rican partners in 2023. Getting to showcase this coffee and Micepa Micromill further, it was exclusively decaffeinated for us at Coffein Compagnie for the newest Decaf Filter! Its profile demonstrates the rich, fruit qualities and clean acidity Costa Rican coffees are renowned for, reminding us of comforting berry crumbles with notes of blackberry and pear. Making a delightful brew, it’ll be sure to put a smile on your face all day.
