Half Caff continues its Colombian arc with the addition of Los Naranjos from San Agustín, Huila. Orange and hibiscus notes compliment the creamy texture of Decaf Aequitas from Brazil’s Cerrado region.

About
ABOUT
Los Naranjos from San Agustín brightens up Half Caff;
with Decaf Aequitas’ sweet vanilla notes, you’ll be
thinking “orange creamsicle” while you sip.
We’ve worked with exporter Aequitas to source a
coffee perfect for decaf - a Catuaí lot from the Minami
family’s Fazenda Olhos d’Agua in the Cerrado Minero
region. Producer Yuki Minami has taught us a thing
or two about quality at scale. Though her farm’s
machine harvesting and long rows of coffee plants
may not “look” like specialty to producers in other
countries, Minami and team enact precise “quality
mapping” to time the mechanical passes for just the
right ripeness in each plot, and calibrate the machines
for a softer touch. Decaffeinated with ethyl acetate,
this component brings a smooth, creamy texture.
Los Naranjos represents Huila’s San Agustín profile
with pride, with a chocolatey, textured base giving way
to vibrant, sweet citrus. This lot is the work of three
producers from the Imbachi family, cultivating specialty
mainstay varieties Caturra and Bourbon. Combined
with Decaf Aequitas, this coffee’s citrus-floral profile
transforms into more dessert-like raspberry and red
cherry.
