It's with great excitement we welcome back Tarime for a second year, and if you enjoy natural coffees, this is a must-try. Named after the small municipality where it is grown, Tarime is located in the Mara Region, straddling the Kenyan border.

In recent years, changes to Tanzania's auction system from 2017 to 2019 led to decreased visibility and availability of Tanzanian coffee. While the country is usually recognised for larger estates in the North and smaller-scale producers in the South, we find Tarime interesting because it consists of harvests from farmers who manage 1-2 acre farms, challenging the typical norm.

Thanks to increased stability and commercial confidence under the recently elected president, the coffee industry in Tanzania is thriving. There is a strong focus on better production practices and paying higher premiums to reward quality. As a result, many farmers have returned to coffee cultivation. Tarime is an excellent example of this positive shift, leading the way for many more outstanding offerings coming your way!
