Decaf EA El Pato from Tabaconas and Sironko district’s Nafuna make this Half Caff a delight! Chocolate and forest fruit flavours make for a soothing, sweet cup.
“El Pato” is a wider term for the community lots we work with from the Tabaconas area of San Ignacio province, in the Cajamarca department of Peru. Though this lot draws from the wider area, we focus mostly on the village of La Bermeja, and this past harvest specifically on offerings from the Quiroz family. Over a third of the coffee for this ethyl-acetate decaffeinated lot comes from the Quiroz.
Named after processing lead Jackie Nafuna, the caffeinated component of this blend comes from The Coffee Gardens washing station in Uganda’s Sironko district. This particular washed lot was fermented with additional pulp from the coffee cherries themselves to enhance subtle stonefruit flavours in the cup profile.
